• Hispanic Heritage Youth Awards
  Deadline October 15
  The Youth Awards honor HIspanic high school seniors who excel in the classroom and community and for their focus in various categories, including business & entrepreneurship, community service, education, healthcare & science, media & entertainment, science/technology/engineering/math (STEM). Qualified applicants are Latino high school seniors graduating in the spring/summer of 2020 who maintain an unweighted 3.0 GPA or higher (on 4.0 scale). Must be a U.S. citizen/Permanent Resident/qualify under DACA who is planning to enroll full-time in college Fall 2020.  For more details, visit Hispanic Heritage Foundation.
   
• Celebrating Texas Public Schools Scholarship
  Deadline: October 15
  This Scholarship is for graduating seniors who can use their voice and visual media (i.e. video) to share how their public school education has impacted their future. The goal of this Scholarship is to highlight the “Great Things Happening in Texas Public Schools” from the student’s perspective. The Award will be presented at Friends Gala on November 20 in Waco, Texas. Applicants must (1) complete an application (ONLINE) include how the money will be used for the students future/help achieve my goals, include approval to use video/presentation, link for presentation, demographic, upload letter docs. (2) submit a video/multimedia presentation 2 minutes or less, regarding how public schools impacted your life/career choice and prepared you to meet your future goals.  (use your platform of choice and send us a link to video) (3) submit two letters from teachers related to the student’s work in school and (4) submit one letter from a guidance counselor, principal, vice-principal, or superintendent regarding the student’s plans after graduation. • National College Resources Foundation
  Deadline: October 21
  Interested juniors and seniors who are U.S. citizens/permanent residents submit an essay of 500 words or less about “Why is a College Education Important to Me.” Scholarship Program Guidelines available here. Winners must attend the Black College Expo in Houston on November 2, 2019, to receive their scholarship.
   
• Horatio Alger Association
  As one of the nation's largest need-based college scholarship programs in the country, the Horatio Alger Scholarship Programs specifically assist high school students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their young lives. While many programs are directed primarily to recognizing academic achievement or leadership potential, the Horatio Alger Association seeks students who have exhibited determination, integrity, and perseverance in overcoming adversity, as well as have critical financial need.   • State Scholarships - Deadline: October 25
    The Association has awarded more than $125 million in privately funded need-based scholarships to more than 22,000 young people over the past 31 years in all 50 states and Puerto Rico. State criteria found here.
  • National Scholarship Program - Deadline: October 25
    Awards 106 $25,000 scholarships to eligible students in all fifty states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. National Scholars receive an all-expenses paid trip to Washington, D.C., during the spring of their senior year to participate in the National Scholars Conference.  Recipients must attend the National Scholars Conference to receive the award. • Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation, Inc. Scholarship
  Deadline: ​ October 31
  The Coca-Cola Scholars Program is an achievement-based scholarship for graduating high school seniors. Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, and their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities. • Voice of Democracy (VFW)
  Deadline: October 31
  The Voice of Democracy is open to 9-12 graders. Prizes and scholarships are awarded at the Post, District, state, and national level. State winners receive an all-expense-paid trip to Washington D.C. More than $2 million in scholarships and incentives is awarded each year. This year’s competition will be writing and recording an audio essay on the 2019-2020 theme of What Makes America Great. The application is available here. More information is available here.
   
• 2020 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards
  Deadline is November 5
  Are you a middle level or high school student who’s making a difference through volunteering? In each state and Washington, D.C., the top middle level and high school youth volunteer will be named State Honorees and will receive an award of $1,000, an engraved silver medallion, and an all-expense-paid trip with a parent or guardian to Washington, D.C., in late April. Runners-up will also be selected in each state and named Distinguished Finalists, receiving a bronze medallion. Other state-level winners will receive Certificates of Excellence. • Elks National Foundation Scholarships
  • 2020 Most Valuable Student Scholarship
    Deadline: November 5
    The Elks National Foundation will award 500 four-year scholarships to the highest-rated applicants in the 2020 competition. Open to any high school senior who is a US Citizen. Applicants need not be related to a member of the Elks. College students are not eligible to apply. Applicants must be citizens of the United States on the date their applications are signed; permanent legal resident status does not qualify. Male and female students compete separately. Ranging from $1,000 per year to $12,500 per year, Most Valuable Student scholarships are for students pursuing a four-year degree, on a full-time basis (minimum of 12 semester hours), in a U.S. college or university. All scholarships are in the form of certificates of award conditional upon the full-time enrollment of the winner in an accredited U.S. college or university. More information available here.
  • 2020 Legacy Awards 
    Due online by January 31
    Open to a high school senior who is the child or grandchild of an Elks member. 250 students who exhibit the values of the Elks National Foundation will be awarded a $4,000 scholarship to support their college education. More info available here.
     
• Jack Kent Cooke College Scholarship
  Application Deadline:  November 13, 2019
  Qualifications – Exceptionally promising high school seniors with demonstrated unmet financial need who intend to enroll full time in an accredited four-year college beginning in Fall 2020 with an unweighted GPA of 3.5 or above; SAT of 1200 or ACT of 26. Each award is intended to cover a significant share of the student’s educational expenses – including tuition, living expenses, books and required fees. Awards vary by individual, based on the cost of tuition as well as other grants or scholarships he or she may receive. This highly competitive scholarship includes: (•) Up to $40,000 per year to attend a four-year accredited undergraduate school (•) Ability to pursue any area of study (•) Personal advising about selecting a college and navigating financial aid (•) Multifaceted advising about how to transition to college and maximize the college student experience. This year, the College Scholarship Program application will be submitted using the Common App. You will complete the Common App general requirements, which include things like your contact information, the school you attend and your grades, and your activities and honors. You will also invite your school counselor and two teachers to submit recommendations through the Common App. Once you have created a Common App, add the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation as one of your “schools” to access the requirements that are specific to the College Scholarship. These will include: (•) Eligibility questions, (•) Several short essays, (•) Your college plans and intended major, (•) Financial information, including the last three years’ Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) for your household. • AXA Achievement Scholarship
  Application Deadline:  December 15, 2019 or until 10,000 applications are received. Apply early!
  Current high school seniors who plan to enroll full-time in an accredited two-year or four-year college or university in the United States for the entire 2020-2021 academic year and who demonstrate ambition and self-drive as evidenced by outstanding achievement in school, community or work-related activities should apply. AXA Achievers share these qualities: Ambition and drive; Determination to set and reach goals; Respect for self, family and community; and Ability to succeed in college. • Burger King Scholar
  Application Opens October 15 – Deadline December 15
  Have a strong academic record with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.5; be passionate about serving the community; and be a high school senior, BURGER KING® employee, spouse/domestic partner or child of an employee. Full program details and application available here.
   
• Texas Farm Credit Scholarship
  Application Deadline: January 6, 2020. More information is available here.
  • Ag Student of the Month – Each of Texas Farm Credit’s 17 branches (one in Beaumont) will recognize two outstanding students per month from March to April. Winners will receive $100 Visa gift cards and will advance to the selection process for the Marsha Martin Scholarship program.
  • Marsha Martin – Texas Farm Credit awards five one-time scholarships for $2,000. Qualified applicants must be seniors who are 4-H or FFA members pursuing an agricultural-related degree (agricultural business, animal science, agricultural economics, etc.).
    In addition to our scholarship programs, the FFA or 4H club in which each Marsha Martin Scholarship recipient is a member of will receive a $500 club contribution on behalf of Texas Farm Credit.  
  • TASB (Texas Association of School Boards) Student Voices Scholarship
    Application Opens October 21 / Deadline: January 15
    Four students will be selected to share personal stories about their experiences in Texas public schools and each will receive a $1,000 scholarship. To be eligible, graduating seniors must commit to attend and participate on the panel in the 2020 Governance Camp on February 28, 2020.   • ​Carr P Collins Scholarship – Opens October 18 – Deadline January 31
    Collins Scholars are awarded a minimum of $5,350 their freshman year, renewable for three additional years. Recipients must be residents of Texas who have been admitted to Baylor, be in the top 25% of their graduating class, have a minimum 1310 SAT or 28 ACT, and have completed a balanced college prep high school curriculum.   • High School Scholarship
    Deadline: April 2020
    Applicants must have at least a 2.5 GPA/4.0 scale and submit a one-page essay of your education goals and a transcript,. Application available in Counselors Office.
  • Ambassador Scholarship
    Deadline: February 2020
    High school seniors who are in the top 25% can earn full tuition and fees for two semesters (one year) up to 15 hours per semester. Ambassadors will network on campus and in the community as well as develop leadership and career skills. Applicants must enroll as a full-time student at LSCO and maintain a 3.0 college GAP, attend training sessions and required monthly meetings, serve about 4 hours a week, and assist with campus tours, community events, recruiting, and special assignments.   • ​Mirabeau Scholarship - Info
    Deadline: – January 1 
    Outstanding incoming freshmen with exceptionally strong academic records are invited to apply. Mirabeau Scholars receive a full scholarship for four years covering tuition, fees, room and board, and books. Applicants should be: first-time-in-college freshmen (dual credit and AP credit are not disqualifying) with a minimum SAT (CR + M)  score of 1360 or an ACT score of 29 and a record of demonstrated excellence in academics, leadership, service and/or creative endeavors. Mirabeau Scholarship applicants must first apply and be accepted for admission to Lamar University. To apply for a Mirabeau Scholarship, you should submit a letter of interest that presents a personal statement of your academic goals and intended major, along with a current resume, and three letters of recommendation (two of which must be from your current teachers). 
  • Southeast Texas Legends Scholarship
    Deadline: January 1
    Outstanding incoming freshmen are invited to apply.  SETX Legends Scholars receive a full scholarship for four years covering tuition, fees, room and board, and books.  Applicants should be: first-time-in-college freshmen (dual credit and AP credit are not disqualifying) with a minimum SAT (CR+M) score of 1360 or an ACT score of 29 or greater with a record of demonstrated excellence in academics, leadership, service and/or creative endeavors.  Students must also complete a FAFSA and demonstrate financial need. Southeast Texas Legends applicants must first apply and be accepted for admission to Lamar University. In addition, you must submit a letter of interest that presents a personal statement of your academic goals and intended major, along with a current resume, three letters of recommendation AND complete the FAFSA.   • Cardinal Elite Scholarship
    Deadline: February 1
    Cardinal Elite Scholarships are available to first-time-in-college freshmen (dual credit and AP credit are not disqualifying) with a minimum SAT (CR+M) score of 1360 or an ACT score of 29 or greater. The Cardinal Elite award will give students $32,000 over four years: $5,000 per year will be applied toward tuition and $3,000 per year will be applied toward on-campus residence hall.
  • Academic Excellence Scholarship - Tuition
    Deadline: February 1
    Academic Excellence Scholarships are available to first-time-in-college freshmen (dual credit and AP credit are not disqualifying) with a minimum SAT (CR + M)  score of 1220-1350 or an ACT score of 25 AND must be ranked in the Top 25%. The Academic Excellence award will give students $24,000 over four years: $3,000 per year will be applied toward tuition and $3,000 will be applied toward on-campus residence hall.  
  • Smith-Hutson Scholarship 
    Deadline: March 1
    Incoming freshmen with established financial need and academic potential are encouraged to apply for the Smith-Hutson Scholarship.  This scholarship provides a portion of tuition, fees, books, supplies and on- campus room and board. The Smith-Hutson Scholarship Application becomes available on December 1. The application will be complete upon the receipt of (1) completed online application in myScholarships; (2) high school transcript; (3) financial need documentation (Copy of the Student Aid Report from the FAFSA); (4) an essay describing career goals; and (5) two letters of recommendation. • McNeese State University – Scholarships Page
   
  • McNeese State University Honors College
    Honors College normally requires a 3.5 GPA (on 4.0 scale) and a 27 ACT or a 1210 on SAT. Application should include current HS transcript, three letters of recommendation (two from teachers/counselor or principal), essay. For more info or scholarship application, see counselor. Honors College Scholarship applications will be reviewed starting beginning of December. Early submission is suggested.
  • McNeese Access Award
    Approximately $2,500 per semester (amount of non-resident/out-of-state fee). First-time freshmen may receive a non-resident fee waiver if they meet the following criteria: Minimum ACT of 21 or SAT of 1060, a GPA of 2.25 on a 4.0 scale, and have no need for developmental coursework. This means they will not pay out-of-state fees. Students in band, dance, cheerleaders, choir, rodeo, debate, and art can also receive out-of-state fees waived. More info here.

  • Terry Foundation Incoming Freshman Scholarship 
    Deadline: January 15; Complete FAFSA by November 1
    Terry Scholars are “well rounded” and “hard working applicants. Criteria areas evenly weighted: (1) record of academic performance as evidenced by grades, class rank, and ACT or SAT scores, (2) demonstrated leadership skills, especially within one’s school and local community, and (3) financial need. Terry Scholars receive a generous scholarship award that covers 6-8 full semesters of tuition, books, and expected on-campus living expenses at SHSU. They also receive specialized mentoring and opportunities to personal and professional development through service activities. Apply for admission to SHSU by January 1 and complete the FAFSA by November 1. Completed application, two letters of recommendation, and official high school transcript must be submitted.   • Honors College Elliott T. Bowers Scholarship
    Applications for fall admittance for first-time freshmen are due by March 31
    Each student admitted to the Honors College receives this scholarship and will also be considered for additional academic scholarships including the President’s Scholarship, the University Scholars, and the Undergraduate Academic Achievement Award. More information available here.

  • ​Hunt Leadership Scholarship
    Application Deadline: January 15
    Submit application for SMU and submit an online Hunt Leadership Application, including an essay and a YouTube statement. Approximately 60 finalists are invited to interview at SMU in March. About 20-25 first-year students are selected ant notified by first week in April. Students selected receive an annual Hunt Scholarship of $42,000 or $168,000 over four years. They may also be eligible for additional departmental scholarships. The award also covers the airfare and tuition costs for any courses during an international, leadership-based experience immediately following each scholar’s sophomore year.   • Academic Excellence Scholarship Program
    Must be admitted by June 30
    The Academic Excellence Scholarship awards $3,000 scholarships to entering freshmen for the upcoming fall semester who meet the eligibility requirements. If specific criteria are met, the scholarship may be renewed for three additional years after the initial award while pursuing the first baccalaureate degree. 
    Requirements: (1) Meet scholarship requirements and receive the offer of admission by June 30 for upcoming fall semester (2) Rank in the top 10% of graduating class OR Rank in the 25% of graduating class and earn 1170 on the newly formatted SAT Test (Math and Evidenced based reading and writing) or 24 on the ACT (not including writing sample score). A formal application for the scholarship is not required as students are considered and evaluated when officially admitted to the university. Scholarships will be awarded to eligible students who are admitted to the university by June 30 for the upcoming fall semester and meet all scholarship requirements by that date.
  • Smith-Hutson Scholarship 
    Deadline: February 28
    The Smith-Hutson Scholarship should cover tuition, books, fees, and reasonable living expenses on campus (up to $17,500). Entering freshmen must be Texas residents, be accepted to SFA, demonstrate financial need, provide a personal essay, provide two letters of recommendation, and be available for a personal interview on the SFA campus.   The application for all freshman scholarships is included as part of the ApplyTexas Application or the Coalition Application. Awards include those by the Department of Student Financial Aid, the Office of Honors Programs and Academic Scholarships, the Corps of Cadets, and colleges and departments within Texas A&M University.

  • Brockman Scholars Program
    Deadline: December 1, 2019, at 5 p.m. 
    The Brockman Scholarship is a merit-based full scholarship that covers five years of study on the College Station campus of Texas A&M University. The scholarship supports four years of undergraduate studies in an approved program of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), as well as the one-year MS Business graduate degree program at Texas A&M’s Mays Business School.

Applicants for a Brockman Scholarship must also have applied to an approved program of study at Texas A&M University. That is a separate application process from the Brockman Scholarship application process and is entirely the responsibility of the applicant. Once Texas A&M admissions office confirms that you have applied to study a designated STEM-based degree, your application for a Brockman Scholarship will be considered.     • Texas Exes
      Application Deadline: February 15
      Applicants in their senior year of high school can apply for Texas Exes scholarships using the online scholarship application. Applicants can apply even if they have not yet been admitted to The University of Texas at Austin. By completing the Entering Freshman Application, you will automatically apply for all Texas Exes scholarships for which you qualify—no further action is needed. 
      Please note: Consideration for scholarships administered by the Texas Exes is a separate process from the ApplyTexas admission application. Completing the ApplyTexas application does not automatically qualify a student to be considered for Texas Exes scholarships. There is not an option to apply for Texas Exes scholarships on the ApplyTexas application. The Texas Exes online scholarship application must be completed. 
    • ​Austin 40 Acres Scholarship

      Forty Acres Scholars Program – The Forty Acres Scholars Program is the premier full-ride, merit-based scholarship at The University of Texas at Austin. This scholarship program offers a rich college experience that provides academic, leadership, and cultural opportunities within an intimate cohort of fellow scholars.
